WHAT IS "CHEF'S TABLE?"

by Victor Béguin, Chef
La Bonne Table -- Culinary Art School and Catering Service

FIRST OF ALL, it's in the kitchen. And according to a host of "unbuttoned gourmands" that's the place to be. Many famous restaurants now offer very limited seating in their kitchens, with the personal attention and company of the chef included for a premium. ($200 per person and 4-6 seats). So eating dans la cuisine is in. Also making a few of your own dishes is also allowed in a few restaurants.

The good news for those who are discovering La Bonne Table, is that the table in the kitchen is our entire focus, whether for a practical hands-on cooking class, or full demonstration/cooking show, you are in the center of the activity. Unlike a restaurant kitchen, we are not preparing a hundred dishes for the rest "out there," but concentrating on what we are preparing with and/or for you, and you can see, smell and taste as we go along. We prepare the meal and then enjoy it together. So whether you are interested in hands on cooking, or just relaxing and watching the show, discover in kitchen dining at its best.

We seat between 8 to 16 people in the kitchen making for an intimate group to a very manageable "long table" where we eat, taste wine, discuss and relax as one should at the kitchen table. When the weather warms up we move the table and some of the cooking outside and enjoy the evening sunset and the stars, next to a running stream and waterfall.

If this inspires you to cook with us or to simply join us at the table, contact us and prepare yourself for a unique culinary experience. Eating in the kitchen is one thing, toss in a chef, and you dine. At La Bone Table every class is a Chef's Table.
